The grid is the visual representation of a Sudoku puzzle. In a standard Sudoku, the grid has 81 cells in a 9x9 formation. There are several derived terms which include the word grid.
- Empty grid
- 81 empty cells.
- Starting grid
- The state in which only the given digits are placed. This is the actual puzzle.
- Solution grid
- A grid in which all the cells contain a digit. It may be the solution to a particular puzzle, but it may also be a valid Sudoku grid used for other purposes.
- Pencilmark grid | Candidate grid
- A grid containing all remaining candidates.
