Single-digit
From Sudopedia
Jump to navigationJump to searchA single-digit technique only examines the candidate pattern for a single digit.
All singles, Locked Candidates and fish belong to this category.
Many players consider single-digit techniques easier than techniques which use multiple digits. When a computer program is used, it can often highlight the cells which contain candidates for a specific digit. Patterns are much easier to spot in the highlighed cells. When solving a Sudoku on paper, the player may find it more difficult to recognize patterns for a single digit in the pencilmarked grid.
